Mum has a beautifully balanced aroma that expresses floral accents with a slight degree of warmth and spice.
A natural, vegan vegetable wax candle made from ingredients that are carefully and ethically sourced. This 300ml soy candle has burn time of approximately 50 hours.
Mum is infused with Neroli Citrus, Mandarin, Lavender and Rosemary oils – some powerful and effective essential oils. Each oil has its own, individual properties when used in aromatherapy including, anti-inflammatory, hypotensive, and antitoxic properties – to name just a few.
Combined into this soy candle, these oils release a fragrance that will soothe and calm your mood, whilst also helping to improve your attention and alertness.
Mum has a familiar yet intriguing fragrance that reminds you of arriving to the family home. The oils give the wax ever such a slight tint that allows the candle to glow.
Note: This candle contains a percentage of Rosemary oil, which is not recommended for use with pregnant women. Please consult with your doctor before using any essential oils, aromatherapy or essential oil-base candles during pregnancy.
Neroli Oil
Neroli is a precious botanical oil derived from the hand-picked flowers of the `Citrus Aurantium` which is a bitter orange tree. An evergreen tree with fragrant white flowers native to the far east especially America and the tropical parts of Asia. The name Neroli comes from Nerola, Italy. The bitter orange oil was brough to Italy from Asia and was used by the Princess of Nerola as a Perfume.
Neroli oil can be dark yellow or browny orange in colour with a fresh, floral scent and a rich but sweet undertone. The oil is cold pressed by hand or by pressing machine.
Within aromatherapy Neroli oil can be used for its many healing properties: anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, carminative, sedative. Neroli oil is used as a natural remedy to anxiety, depression, shock, panic and hysteria. It can also be used to reduce inflammation to sensitise pain, lower blood pressure, repair and rejuvenate skin. Also used to treat PMS and improve the symptoms of menopause.
Mandarin Oil – Citrus Reticulata
Mandarin oil is derived from a small evergreen tree, native to Southern China and the Far East. Now however, the oil is mainly produced in Europe, The Middle East and Brazil.
The essential oil is yellow / orange in colour with a blue violet tint, and has an intense, sweet, floral citrus scent.
In aromatherapy, Mandarin oil has many of the same attributes as Orange bitter and Orange sweet. It is non-toxic, non-irritant and non-sensitising, and is a safe oil for pregnant women and children.
Lavender Oil
Lavender oil is an essential oil derived from the Lavender Plant. The whole plant is highly aromatic and originally indigenous to the Mediterranean, but now it’s cultivated all over the world.
There are many different types of lavender and lavender oil has many healing properties, to name a few: analgesic, antirheumatic, antiseptic, anti-spasmodic, antitoxic, carminative, hypotensive, insecticide, sedative, parasiticide, stimulant tonic.
The essential oil is great for the skin, healing circulation, and soothing muscles and joints. It also has positive effects on the respiratory, nervous, and immune systems too. Lavender oil can be found in antiseptic cream, perfumes, soaps and the list goes on.
Typically, Lavender oil is often colourless or pale yellow, with a sweet, floral, balsamic woody scent. It blends well with most oils and is widely use.
Rosemary Oil
Rosemary oil is derived from an evergreen shrub with needle shaped leaves, and pale blue flowers. The whole plant is strongly aromatic and is native to the Mediterranean however, it’s now cultivated worldwide.
The Rosemary plant is one of the earliest plants to be used in food and medicine. Within aromatherapy, Rosemary oil is analgesic, antioxidant, antirheumatic, antispasmodic, carminative tonic, and can be use as a stimulant.
The essential oil is great for circulation, the respiratory, digestive and immune systems, as well as the nervous system too. Rosemary may reduce levels of cortisol, a hormone that has harmful effects on the body. It may also improve brain function, boost attention, alertness, energy and mood.
Rosemary oil is colourless, or pale yellow in colour with a strong and fresh, almost minty scent. The oil blends well with lavender and other herb oils, or woody scents.
Note: Rosemary oil is to be avoided during pregnancy and not to be used by epileptics. Please consult with your doctor before using essential oils, aromatherapy oils or essential oil-base candles.
